Imagine more than you can see

If you are living in comfort regularly, you are living in the wrong place. Complacency is a horrible place to spend your days. If you are not moving forward, you will stagnate and die a little every day.

I was inspired by the late Steve Jobs in my business, especially when he told Business Week that, “A lot of times, people don’t know what they want until you show it to them.”

To be an empowered entrepreneur it is important that you are able to visualize what others do not see, and even to imagine what, up to now, has been considered impossible.

Those ideas come to me in the quiet moments of my life when Sid and I sit on the front porch and stare off across the beautiful prairies with the huge Alberta sky in the background and the Rocky Mountains on the deep horizon.

Could any creature ever have imagined that these mountains rose from rocks that were formed first, about 1.7 billion years ago?

During a third period of intense plate tectonic activity in the formation of the earth, the shale and limestone formations evolved and grew to these majestic heights.

Today they inspire people from all over the world.

Would we have imagined mountains if we had never seen them, I wonder? Did the earliest people to roam the earth ever consider their descendants might sit for hours in traffic jams in New York City or Shanghai?

How can we even think things that have no connection with what is visible before us now?

We just need an imagination fuelled by empowerment.

When that happens, we don’t see merely what is in formation in front of us. We understand that mountains do move and waters eat our coastline or recede with the tides. In the same way, the human face changes and what is important in one generation is put to the curb for trash pick-up day in the next.

Understanding the fluidity of life is inspirational to the entrepreneur who is seeking to connect on a new level with clients. It inspires me in my business, and it will open the parameters of yours when you consider it.

For me, the realization that rocks could move into mountains and change the face of the globe was a moment of clarity that individuals could grow and move into new stages of empowerment that would allow them to change the human face of the world.

It is important as you grow yourself and your business to imagine what others cannot see. What could the raw elements before us be molded into to make the world a better place?

When you are empowered and you have a firm intention, there is nothing that can stop you. You too can move life’s mountains and effect lasting change on your world.
